Saying the words maintenance of certification will get a lot of long, angry stares in the physician community. Here are a few reasons why.

The program from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), which is often required by insurance panels, hospital staffs, and licensing boards, does not have many defenders in the physician community - save for a few. Across the country, physicians are leading the charge to try and get state legislators to overthrow rules requiring MOC.What is it about MOC that gets physicians so fired up?
