Remember your first year in practice? It's often the hardest, and most rewarding, year in an MD or DO's career, and we want to hear all about it.

We are looking for physician writers for our September Physician Writer Search. The deadline is... well, it's today, but we are hoping to find a few docs out there with a knack for words and a good story to tell about thier first year of practice. Tell us about a lesson you learned during that crucial period, whether it was about how to treat your patients, or deal with staff, or balance your work and life. 

Can't make this deadline? Here are some upcoming topics and deadlines:

• My worst or best day of being a doctor - due July 23 for the October issue
• The career I would have if I hadn't become a doctor - due August 27 for the November issue
