With all the useful information available on Physicians Practice, it is easy to become overwhelmed.

With this in mind, the tip of the week is a chance to reflect on some of the wisdom found all across the site. In the May 2021 article on a practical approach to work-life balance, Drew Boxler writes the following:

At the American College of Physicians (ACP) Internal Medicine Meeting 2021, Jason S. Schneider, MD, FACP , associate professor of medicine at Emory University, gave a presentation advising physicians on how to achieve a better work-life integration.

Below is Schneider’s ‘practice approach’ to attaining a work-life balance:

1). Liberate yourself from unrealistic expectations – meet your own personal professional goals.

2). Prioritize your wellness – make sure you’re carving out time in your days, weeks, and months for those important activities that help restore you as a person.

3). Detach and unplug – our technology is a convenience and helps us help run our lives more efficiently, but they can also be detractors from wellness.
