With all the useful information available on Physicians Practice, it is easy to become overwhelmed.

With this in mind, the tip of the week is a chance to reflect on some of the wisdom found all across the site. In this September 2021 article on decreasing the amount of time patients must wait for their appointment, David Doyle gives this tip:

Keep patients occupied

Idle time tends to feel longer; so one way to make a long wait more bearable is to keep your patients occupied. Many practices accomplish this by having patients fill out paperwork, but too much busywork creates additional frustrations. The recent widespread implementation of electronic health records makes this a short-term solution at best.
