The “business” side of medicine is becoming a hot topic in healthcare today. How many physicians are prepared?
Recent discussions at Physicians Practice have focused on the increasing importance of the “business” side of medicine, Practice Notes blogger and attorney Ike Devji wrote in his recent blog: Business Education for Busy Physicians.
“We’ve covered issues like what kind of team members you need, provided lists of specific business and legal planning, and coached you on management issues,” he wrote. “As a result, some of my recent correspondence with readers has included questions about how doctors can acquire executive-level knowledge on these complex business issues in a time- and cost-efficient way.”
In his blog, Devji provides some great tips for physicians. But his blog also raises the important question: How many physicians actually have a solid background in the “business side?”
