These seven states see less malpractice suits per resident than most.

While no state is malpractice-free, some are much more litigious than others.

A study from John Fitch analyzed data from the National Practitioner Data Bank on reports made against healthcare practitioners, entities, providers, or suppliers from 2019 to 2023. Using population data, the number of reports per 100,000 residents was calculated for each year and an average was determined from the results.
